Description

Our Galateo ® is the typical wine of the Veneto region produced in the historical province of Treviso and obtained from Glera grapes.
Dull straw yellow in colour, it has a fine and persistent perlage. Its bouquet is fruity and floral with clear notes of ripe Golden Delicious apples and elegant hints of small white mountain flowers. To the palate, it is fresh and sapid, with a soft, pleasantly fruity and harmonious finish. It is the best-known aperitif from Treviso, suited to any time of day. It also pairs well with steamed shellfish appetizers and starters made with wild herbs.

Why the name “Il Galateo”?
Monsignor Giovanni della Casa, scholar, writer and Apostolic Nuncio in Venice, retreated to Nervesa on Montello, specifically, to the Abbey of Saint Eustachio. There, between 1552 and 1555, he is said to have composed many of his most beautiful rhymes and, above all, his handbook of manners the “Galateo overo de costumi”, better known as the Galateo, published posthumously in 1558. This wine lives up to its name, “IL GALATEO”, with its elegant and prestigious demeanour, to be served at any time of the day and on all occasions.
